Formerly known as the Philippine Association of Finance Companies (PAFCI), the Association has played a significant role in shaping the financing industry in the Philippines, including its contribution to the drafting of Republic Act No. 5980 or the Financing Company Act of 1969 and Republic Act No. 8556 or the Financing Company Act of 1998.
